National Weather Service cancels flood watch in La Salle, Grundy County

The National Weather Service Chicago has cancelled the flood watch for La Salle and Grundy Counties for the area around the Illinois River, which initially lasted until Thursday afternoon.

The watch was issued Monday night, and said flooding is possible on the Illinois River from the outlet at Channahon downstream to Heritage Harbor east of Ottawa from Tuesday morning through Thursday morning.

The river ended up capping out at 14.1 feet on Wednesday when the National Weather Service cancelled the flood watch.
